What you'll need to prepare KetoGenesis

To prepare KetoGenesis, you'll need the following things:

  • KetoGenesis powder.

  • A fat source: double/heavy cream or a neutral tasting oil, such as light olive oil or rapeseed oil.

  • Water.

  • A protein shaker, blender or two litre pitcher.

We do not recommend using oils with strong tastes such as virgin and extra virgin olive oil as it does affect taste.

Optionally, you can also use the following:

  • MCT oil - replacing a small amount of your primary fat source with some MCT oil can help hasten the induction of ketosis. Start with a low amount - no more than 15ml per day - and slowly increase up to a maximum of 45ml per day.

  • Omega 3 capsules - KetoGenesis doesn't contain any omega 3, so it is a good idea to get some from somewhere if you'll be using it as your sole source of calories.

  • Something to mix in - mixing KetoGenesis in protein shaker does give a very smooth texture, but if you'd prefer not to shake, you can mix in a blender or use a whisk instead.

  • Inexpensive electronic kitchen scales to allow more accurate portion sizes.

How to mix KetoGenesis

To mix one meal's worth of KetoGenesis, do the following:

  • Add 50 grams of KetoGenesis powder and 400 millilitres of water to a protein shaker or blender.

  • Add oil or cream to reach your desired caloric intake. Oil/cream addition can be calculated using the calculator (select '1/3 day (50 grams)' in step 2).

  • Shake/blend it together and enjoy.

To mix one day's worth of KetoGenesis, do the following:

  • Add 150 grams of KetoGenesis powder and 1200 millilitres of water to a two litre pitcher.

  • Add oil or cream to reach your desired caloric intake. Oil/cream addition can be calculated using the calculator (select 'Full day (150 grams)' in step 2).

  • Shake it together and enjoy.

Using MCT Oil:

You can use a small amount of MCT oil to hasten the induction and extent of ketosis. If choosing to do this, begin by adding 5ml of MCT oil to each meal (for a maximum of 15ml daily) and reducing your other fat sources accordingly. As you become more used to consuming MCT oil, you can slowly increase this up to a maximum of 15ml per meal (45ml daily). Consuming too much MCT oil can cause gastrointestinal distress, so build up your consumption slowly.

How much oil/cream to add

To help you work out how much oil or cream to add to your KetoGenesis to reach your desired caloric intake, we have developed a calculator you can use. We recommend the use of our calculator to ease the confusion that could come from doing the calculation yourself, but it is optional.
