We are committed to protecting our customer's privacy. We never sell our customers information to third parties but do hold some information in our records. Please take the time to review this information.
For us to process your order, we need to know your name, email address, delivery address, and a phone number. Your order history, last order and all other information you submit to us will be recorded. Any information you store in your account details we are able to view, but we are unable to edit any of your details. We are never able to edit or view your password.
Your payment will be taken by either Stripe or PayPal. We are often able to see fragments of your payment details, such as card expiry date, country of origin and the last 4 digits of your card number on Stripe, for example. We are never able to see your full payment information - this will always be protected.
Personal details will only be shared with a third party if it is vital to our service. You agree for your information to be viewed by any third party as a data processor when necessary to our service. If you wish to know who these third parties are, you are welcome to contact us.
We will not collect any information about you unless it is specifically and knowingly provided by you. The information we collect will be accurate and will be kept in sales records. You can check this at any time by contacting us. We will immediately correct any inaccuracies you report.
We will pass on your name, email address, delivery address and phone number to the courier so your parcel can be delivered.
Occasionally we will share information such as our rate of orders, number of orders per country as well as what our more popular products are to third parties. We reserve the right to talk about specific customer's orders/behaviours without including any personal information, thus keeping them untraceable.
We keep a record of what purchases use discount codes.
If you are eligible for either an annual or lifetime a discount code, your name will be marked with what discount(s) you are eligible for as any unauthorised accounts using these discounts are automatically refunded. If you receive an annual discount, we will email you in December to reaffirm your eligibility.
In order to receive one of these discounts, we will need to see proof of eligibility. We will not store this information, and it will not be used for any other purpose or passed on to anyone else. This information however will stay on our email servers and will be removed if requested. We may ask you to create a customer account if you haven't already done so to confirm your eligibility for future orders. We will check every purchase made using one of these discounts page against a list of customers we have permitted to use these codes, and immediately refund any from emails not listed. Please ensure the email you use when purchasing matches the one you sent proof with, as well as your customer account.

We use a third party (MailChimp) to manage our newsletter subscriptions and list of beta-testers. By signing up to our newsletter you agree for the information submitted in the form to be shared with this third party so it can be processed by them, and you also agree to be contacted in relation to what you have signed up for.
We will also be able to see what email client you often use, what emails you have opened, and have clicked through to our site.
We make sure that you receive a confirmation email to reaffirm your consent to the newsletter emails. You can opt out of any mailing list at any time by contacting us or waiting for your next communication from us and selecting unsubscribe in the footer of the email.
If you haven't signed up to either of these lists, we will only email you in regard to your order(s).
We have an affiliate reward scheme, where if you are referred to us by someone officially associated with Genesis Foods and proceed to make a purchase, we will then credit them for increasing our sales.
If you are referred to us by an affiliate, then any information submitted by you may be available to be viewed by that affiliate, depending on their terms. We will be able to see if you've used an affiliate link, and whose link you have used so we track your order to reward the affiliate accordingly. If you have not purchased through an affiliate scheme then your information will not be accessible to anyone other than Genesis Foods.
This website employs SSL to provide a secure shopping experience. SSL is a communications protocol for transmitting private information over the internet. It works by encrypting data that is transmitted over the SSL connection. When you place an order, your information is encrypted and then sent over the internet using an SSL connection. No one can read or access the data that is being transmitted.
In addition to the company's safeguards, your personal data is protected in the UK by the Data Protection Act (the 'Act'). The Act requires us, as registered Data Controllers, amongst other things to ensure that the data we hold about you should be processed lawfully and fairly. It should be accurate, relevant and not excessive. The information should, where necessary, be kept up to date and not retained for longer than is necessary. It should be kept securely to prevent unauthorised access by other people.
If you want us to delete your information, just contact us and we will remove your customer account as well as any other personal data in our records. Unfortunately we cannot delete any of your information from invoices as these are needed for our VAT records, and must be kept for 6 years.
